Family & Motherhood with AWP

Motherhood doesn't always feel lovely when you're living it.

Frozen pizzas, coffee that's been reheated and forgotten, 2AM feedings, and tears for the ninth (tenth? eleventh?) time this morning. Doctor's visits, daycare routines, finding stains that may or may be chocolate or may be something else entirely, and falling into bed at the end of the day, knowing you'll wake up and do it all over again. And again. And again. Probably in the middle of the night.

But there's also the lasts—

The last time they fit in a size newborn onesie. The last time they mispronounce "helicopter" in their perfect little cherubic voice while pointing at the sky. The last time they need a hand to climb the stairs at bedtime. The last day of kindergarten. The last time you pick them up and hold them.

Sometime between bringing them home from the hospital and sending them off to college, they become too big for your arms. A photograph may be worth a thousand words now— but in eighteen years, you'll find they're worth every single one.

Who your family is today is a treasure worth remembering; and there's nothing quite like remembering with the timeless medium of film.
